For Monday, September 8:

10.6 Just read “Find the Greatest Common Factor or Two or More Expressions” but skip anything with variables. Skip the videos.

Preview and questions for Test 1 over Modules 1 and 2 on Wednesday, September 10.

For Wednesday, September 3:

2.3 Read the entire section and watch the video.

2.4 Read everything except “Find All the Factors of a Number”. Don’t need to watch the videos. If you watch “Divisibility Rules,” we won’t use the extra rules for 4, 6, 8, and 9.

2.5 Read everything except “Prime Factorization by the Ladder Method.”

Videos: Watch “Examples 1-3 Prime Factorization.”

Skip “Examples 1, 2 Prime Factorization stacked division.”

Watch “The Least Common Multiple” up to 4:40. *

Watch “Determine LCM Using a List of Multiples”

Watch “Determine the LCM Using Prime Factorization” *

*Uses a slightly different method for prime factorization than the book.

For Wednesday, August 27:

Read anything in Chapter 1 that you don’t know, except for calculating by hand. Be sure to read:

1.1 Rounding

1.2 – 1.5 “Translate Word Phrases to Math Notation” and Operations “in Applications”

Skip videos.

2.1 Read the section, and watch the videos “Order of Operations – The Basics” and “Order of Operations” – ignore the calculator part.

2.2 Read everything except “Combine Like Terms”, and watch the video “Basic Vocabulary”, ignore negative numbers.

5.7 Just read “Simplify Square Roots”; stop at Square Root of a Negative Number. Watch the video “Introduction to Square Roots” up to 3:07.

Class meets on Monday and Wednesday from 11:00 to 12:15 in room A450.
